China builds a navy as America fights a culture war

Former U.N. Ambassador and GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley spoke out against the Biden administration’s mishandling of defense issues and the Chinese threat against America this weekend. “China has been preparing for war with us for decades,” she told Fox News’s Shannon Bream. While Secretary of State Antony Blinken just got back home from a humiliating trip to China, our military has been suffering through a sudden case of “woke.”
Haley has repeatedly called for more attention to the looming China problem, which has not been receiving an appropriate level of attention. She has rightfully declared China to be the most dangerous foreign threat since the Second World War and that “China is much more than a mere competitor. Communist China is an enemy. We have to stop wasting time.” Here’s why.

China’s rapid military modernization, geopolitical aggression, and growth in fleet size all present a direct threat to America. The Biden administration’s performance in this sphere is abysmal. For now, the current administration seems too focused on pushing “woke” initiatives in our military, some of which include pronouns, transgender recognition posts on social media, efforts to combat climate change through new military technology, and touting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
The present administration is busy pursuing programs and policies that try to indoctrinate our military men and women who choose to dedicate their lives to causes that are distinct from the ideological underpinnings of the “woke” agenda. Instead of fighting and winning wars, the Biden administration’s policies have injected the Department of Defense with the culture war.
In the end, Haley hits the nail right on the head when she outlines these comparisons: “If you look at the military situation, they now have the largest naval fleet in the world. They have 340 ships. We have 293. They’re going to have 400 in two years. We won’t even have 350 in two decades. They have started developing hypersonic missiles. We’re just now getting started.”
The Biden administration must understand that “woke” leftist ideologies are going to destroy our military from within and erode America’s national security. Our armed forces have a mission to protect our physical and economic security interests against enemies. Post-materialism has no place in our military.
