The GOP should follow Anna Paulina Luna’s lead on holding Adam Schiff ‘accountable’

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has shown remarkable poise, bravery, and courage in her brief time in Congress.
Not even in office for half a year, Luna has made it a point to hold Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) accountable for all the dishonestly and misinformation he enthusiastically spread during his time as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee during the last two years of former President Donald Trump’s term.

Schiff is arguably one of the country’s worst politicians in promoting misinformation about Donald Trump.
He routinely claimed to have proof of illegal activities and significant wrongdoing by Trump, only to fail to deliver such evidence when it mattered most. Schiff’s rhetoric and actions, or lack thereof, ripped the country apart and effectively sabotaged the Trump presidency. Luna should be commended for her efforts in wanting to hold Schiff accountable.
“He’s a criminal. What he did was wrong. And, Adam Schiff, you will be held accountable,” Luna said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures.
It’s a vitally important endeavor for Luna to pursue, and other Republicans should follow suit. Democrats essentially bullied Republicans when they controlled the House during Trump’s last two years, and they weaponized Congress to target a political adversary.
“We are going to fine that man $16 million for using his position to lie to the American people and ultimately push something that not only destroyed our country, ripped us apart, but also too was responsible for almost, I believe, maybe even potentially permanently damaging foreign relations,” Luna said.

Regardless of anyone’s opinions of Donald Trump, this was morally and ethically wrong. The Democrats started planning to get back at Trump and plan his impeachment on Nov. 9, 2016 — a day after the presidential election and over two months before he was inaugurated.
Every Republican in Congress should support and promote Luna’s efforts to bring accountability and consequences to Democrats like Schiff and others spreading misinformation to amass political power and influence. There must be consequences for Schiff’s deceitfulness.
