Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are staging operations at California community colleges. They are only doing so because California affords special privileges to illegal immigrants, as Democrats continue to incentivize them to cross the border.
Multiple California community colleges are in a panic as ICE officers have made arrests of students and students’ parents. Bureaucrats complain that ICE officers don’t give them advance notice or ask for permission (which they do not need) to enter public spaces. These community colleges are now spending tens of thousands of dollars installing signs that tell ICE officers to get university permission, despite ICE officers conducting their business quickly enough that those bureaucrats can’t attempt to shut them down in time.
CALIFORNIA VOTERS STILL DON’T LIKE HOW DEMOCRATS ARE RUNNING THE STATE
The only reason ICE is even present at these community colleges is that California has thrown their doors wide open for illegal immigrants. Under California state law, illegal immigrants in California can apply for financial aid and pay in-state tuition rates rather than out-of-state rates. These illegal immigrants thus receive financial assistance and tuition savings that are unavailable to citizens, even those living in states as close to California as Nevada or Arizona. As a result, there are some 102,000 illegal immigrants attending California colleges and universities, and many of them even receive better financial aid offers than actual California residents.
This is one of a list of special privileges that California affords illegal immigrants. Other giveaways include taxpayer-funded healthcare (which is so expensive that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) had the state take out loans to cover the costs) and taxpayer-subsidized phone bills. California Democrats are attempting to craft a bill that would accept illegal immigrants into the state’s first-time homebuyer program, allowing them to cut ahead of Californians searching for affordable homes during the state’s housing cost crisis.

These constant giveaways only encourage people from across the world to cross the border illegally and flock to California. When a Democrat takes the White House and neuters any border enforcement operations (as the Biden administration did), you will see hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants again storm the border in pursuit of giveaways like these. California is openly incentivizing illegal immigration and doing so at the expense of Americans, including those who call California home.
As in Minneapolis and other Democratic areas, the only reason ICE officers are present on California community college campuses is that Democrats incentivize illegal immigrants to be there. The supposed terrorism of ICE in Democratic communities exists because Democrats continue to coddle illegal immigrants and thus see a swell of arrivals who come chasing every benefit that Democrats are offering them.
