Recently, I fell into a discussion with a seemingly ordinary girl on the train. During our conversation, she claimed that she was interested in becoming a so-called democratic socialist and that she thought America needed a fairer, more democratic third option. I quickly rebutted that the Democratic Socialists of America are neither fair nor democratic, and that they are the organization that wants to destroy our Constitution. After the rebuttal, she was surprised and slowly and simply responded, “I did not know that.”
I want to naively believe that typical DSA members are like that girl, and that they do not want to maliciously destroy our Constitution, but are instead swept into falling victim to the mass hysteria of socialism, becoming like lemmings jumping off a cliff. But with the DSA going on the offensive, it is fanciful to believe that more than a fraction of its members care about preserving our Constitution.
As of 2026, the DSA’s disingenuous mask of innocence has fallen off, and the organization has grown courageous enough to spew its septic ideological dogma of anti-Americanism to anyone with ears, even gloating about how they will destroy the American Constitution. The DSA’s program “Workers Deserve More” candidly states, “We are workers fighting to transform society: to win the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic,” as well as, “We know complete victory will require building a new society from the ground up. We push these demands to their furthest extent today, so we can fight for their fullest realization in a socialist future.”
Meanwhile, National co-Chairwoman Megan Romer gleefully said on Fox News, “When we talk about revolution, we’re saying the system as it is cannot be reformed into socialism. It has to be knocked down.” The DSA’s loudly spouted heinous goal to forcefully demolish our political system for theirs is forcing the organization to say the quiet part out loud: We want to destroy your Constitution.
Their partner organization, the YDSA, felt endowed to up the ante and passed Resolution 21 as doctrine. The resolution enshrined anti-Constitutional rhetoric, stating, “Be it finally resolved, YDSA urges DSA as a whole to take up a stance of opposition to the Constitution, openly indicting it as antidemocratic and oppressive, encouraging all DSA members in office to do the same….” Leading to doubt about whether DSA members can even hold office. The blatant, anti-constitutional conflict of interest actively violates the oath of office they swore.
With the DSA’s obvious desire for the destruction of the Constitution, why do we permit the continuation of cancerous doctrines to spread? I would argue that there is an air of slothfulness that has overcome many leaders in our nation, with many forcing the nation to tolerate a poison that will numb it to the growing socialist calls for destruction and insurrection. As the prophets of Israel warned the kings of future consequences, calls to action to stop anti-American reactionaries are falling on deaf ears, while the seditious, planned destruction of our Constitution is shrugged off as an irrelevant fact.
Historically, the United States took action against organized calls for sedition. Eighty-six years ago, Congress solved this problem by codifying the Smith Act of 1940, which banned subversive parties, saying: “It shall be unlawful for any person … to organize or help to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any government in the United States by force or violence; or to be or become a member of, or affiliate with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof.”
According to U.S. law, the DSA is an unlawful organization that, because of its subversive activities, should be disbanded.
THE ‘AMERICA FIRST’ LEFT IS HERE — AND REPUBLICANS ARE MISSING THE TRAP
As Ronald Reagan said in his 1967 inaugural address as California governor, “Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction.” We should not be passive onlookers, merely watching politics from our backyard as our nation is being attacked, but active in preserving our constitutionally endowed freedoms.
It is our duty to preserve freedom for us and our posterity while enforcing the legislation set by Congress. Any organization that advocates calls to violence and destruction of the U.S. government must be prohibited.
