James Talarico lies about his ‘new’ position on transgenderism

.

James Talarico knows he is in a competitive Senate race in a red state, which means he now has to lie to voters about positions he has held for years to try to get elected.

Talarico is currently leading his Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, in the polling average by about 3 points (with the obvious caveat that the polling industry still has a leftward slant). In order to maintain his position and secure the upset victory over the GOP machine in Texas, Talarico has to pretend that he is some centrist candidate. This performance has seen him lie about his past positions on veganism and opposing meat consumption, and continue to pretend to be a devout Christian pastor-type.

JAMES TALARICO’S CAMPAIGN WAS VEGAN — FOR A DAY, AND WE HAVE THE RECEIPTS

The biggest hang-up Talarico is dealing with now is transgenderism. Talarico said in an interview with Fox News that “I oppose trans athletes playing in girls sports if it endangers safety or fairness” and said he “missed the mark” on his past statements while assuring voters that he no longer believes that there are six biological sexes.

Talarico is lying. We know he is lying because he has maintained these positions for years. Talarico voted against legislation that would ban boys from playing in girls sports when he was in the Texas legislature, even explicitly saying, “Some things are more important than perfectly fair competition in sports.” He very explicitly said that fairness in sports does not matter if it means keeping “transgender girls” (read: boys) out of girls sports, and now asserts that he opposes it if it endangers fairness.

In fact, Talarico was so committed to the transgender movement dogma that he implied that the bill would literally kill transgender people. He said, “If one trans child dies to protect someone’s damn trophy, this bill is grotesque.” What seems more likely: Talarico is lying to the face of every voter in Texas, or he has changed his mind in the span of a few years to think that protecting “someone’s damn trophy” is worth it even if “one trans child dies”?

TALARICO’S PAST COMMENTS AGREEING CHRISTIANS ARE VILLAINS WON’T WIN TEXAS: JOE CONCHA

Or what about his belief that there are six biological sexes? Talarico made those comments in 2021, when he was 32 years old. Now, he has magically changed his mind, just in time to run in a statewide general election in Texas. Most of the rest of us have understood that there were just two biological sexes since we were children. How is it that a 32-year-old man asserted otherwise, only to a few years later claim he simply doesn’t believe it anymore?

Talarico is not a stupid man, so the only explanations are that he was lying then, or, more likely, that he is lying now. Talarico made it clear that he believes that transgender activists take priority over fairness in sports or understanding of basic biology, and is only changing his mind now that it could cost him political power. He is willing to say anything to get elected in order to ensure that Texas voters are represented by a California-style Democrat in the Senate.
