If a lab test is manipulated, the diagnosis is wrong, and the patient gets hurt. I see a similar process happening in our courts today. The new whistleblower details from New York Attorney General Letitia James’s office show a breakdown in how our legal system is supposed to work.
For years, we have seen a constant effort to target President Donald Trump, his family, and his businesses. We saw it with the Russia collusion claims and the long congressional hearings. But the latest news from New York goes beyond regular political fights. It shows a deeper issue inside a major law enforcement agency.
Reports show that Assistant Attorney General Daniel Wiesenfeld sent an internal email to his colleagues. He stated that his supervisors ordered him to “find and pursue crimes” against Trump and Truth Social. He noted there was no credible reason to target them. The office reacted quickly. They deleted the email from 2,000 employee accounts and put him on leave. Now, the FBI and the Department of Justice have stepped in. Federal investigators interviewed Wiesenfeld for hours to see what happened.
The basic rule of American justice is simple. Law enforcement investigates crimes to find suspects. They do not pick a person first and then search for a crime to pin on them. As a physician, I know that starting with a conclusion and working backward always leads to a flawed result. When a state prosecutor’s office reverses this rule, the entire system fails.

Our courts need public trust to work. If people think prosecutors are just running political hit jobs, that trust disappears. If the government can twist the rules to hurt a former president and his family, everyday citizens are not safe either. The system becomes the problem instead of the solution.
This leads to a simple question. Is fair justice ever served when it comes to the Trumps? For a long time, the legal rules have been stretched to fit a political goal. A whistleblower has now shown us how these decisions are actually made. The answer is clear. True justice will return only when those who abuse their legal power are held accountable under the law.
