A string of news stories informs us that Democrats have “distanced themselves” from America-hating Mao-loving antisemitic terrorist-cheerleader Hasan Piker.
But have they? As of this writing, I count six Democrats who have explicitly spoken out about Piker’s latest rant blaming Jews who fail to reject their culture for any violent retribution that might befall them. For argument’s sake, let’s be generous and call it 10 Democrats.
The insinuation of these stories is that the Democratic Party is cutting ties with Piker. Technically speaking, a handful of Democrats in safe seats have criticized the streamer’s most recent comments. The rest are scared to death of the socialist faction.
There are over 250 elected federal Democrats. It’s likely that more members of Democratic Party have campaigned with or appeared on Piker’s show than have spoken out about his deranged rants, including the usual suspects such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Bernie Sanders (VT, technically an independent), New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Ro Khanna (CA), Rashida Tlaib (MI), Ilhan Omar (MN), Claire Valdez (NY), Darializa Avila Chevalier, Adam Hamawy, and Summer Lee (PA).
The whole “Dems distance” themselves campaign is part of an effort to save the candidacy of far-left Michigan senatorial hopeful and Piker buddy Abdul el Sayed, who keeps demanding reporters stop talking about the man he invited to his primary victory celebration.
“I want to be crystal clear, nobody speaks for this campaign besides me and my campaign spokespeople,” el Sayed recently said. This is, of course, a completely meaningless statement. El Sayed sought out Piker even after the streamer had said the United States deserved 9/11, after he praised Hamas and Hezbollah, after he implored his listeners to make capitalistic blood run red in the streets, and after he praised genocidal dictatorships. Why did el Sayed do that? It’s completely legitimate for voters to wonder why he aligned himself with an avowed communist bigot. I have theories.
If el Sayed is really ready to distance himself from Piker, a name he didn’t even use in his “distancing” statement, he could provide the specific topics of disagreement. I doubt there are many.

Piker’s contention that Jews will have brought violence on themselves mirrors el-Sayed’s statement — “hurt people hurt people” — rationalizing the near-massacre of kindergartens in a Hezbollah-style car-ramming at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township last year. Even after noting his statement was a “mistake,” el-Sayed was still arguing that he was merely trying to offer “context.”
The “context” is that el Sayed treats murderous terrorists of the Islamic variety as rational actors with legitimate grievances. Just like Piker.
