Don’t listen to the legacy media reports, social media posts, or faux outrage from left-wing acolytes and transgender supporters. Despite the false account of events that many have advanced regarding the confrontation at a WNBA game on Sunday, the truth is that Chicago Sky player Natasha Cloud verbally assaulted Enes Kanter Freedom, and she did so to suppress his opinions, views, and speech because she didn’t agree with them. Specifically, Cloud didn’t like Freedom’s shirt, which read “woman, noun, adult human female.”
Suddenly, the WNBA’s promise of giving fans an arena with “no hate” and its commitment to ensuring freedom to speak didn’t matter. All that mattered was silencing the opinion of a fan in attendance who expressed solidarity with protecting women’s sports from men claiming they are women and participating in them. And it isn’t the first time this has happened at a WNBA game this year.
WOKE, WOMEN, OR WEIRD? WHAT DOES THE W IN WNBA STAND FOR?
Under normal circumstances, or in virtually any other sports league, if a professional athlete verbally attacked a fan, the athlete would most likely face consequences. Such was not the case on Sunday, as a Chicago Sky player was permitted to yell, scream, and berate a fan in the stands who was wearing a shirt that had the definition of the word “woman” printed on it. The fan just happened to be former NBA player and current WNBA draft prospect Enes Kanter Freedom.
Toward the end of the third quarter in Sunday’s game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, there was a stoppage in play as the Fever reportedly called a timeout to regroup after Sky player Natasha Cloud scored a basket. She then began to yell, scream, and harass Freedom for wearing a shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”
Despite many claims to the contrary, it was Cloud who instigated the confrontation. Cloud was the one who started yelling and screaming. Cloud was the one who started harassing Freedom. Cloud was the one who pointed her finger at Freedom and aggressively walked toward him. Freedom’s flaw was that he stepped toward Cloud as she approached him. In doing so, he stepped on the court of play, which, according to the WNBA Fan Code of Conduct, is grounds for ejection.
THE WNBA HAS A BLACK ENTITLEMENT PROBLEM
According to Freedom, shortly before Cloud started berating him, he put his hands up to cheer Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, hitting a three-point shot. In an interview with Fox News, Freedom said that shortly after Cunningham’s shot, Cloud walked over, antagonizing and instigating with Cloud allegedly saying Cunningham “wasn’t going to sleep with you.”
“Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate,” Freedom said in the Fox News interview. “Literally, a couple possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ‘She’s not gonna sleep with you.’”
In addition to this being abusive rhetoric from a WNBA player to a sitting fan, it’s also arguably sexual harassment. Yet, the WNBA punished Freedom and allowed Cloud to continue playing.
“And I was like, ‘I am not trying to sleep with her. I’m just here to protect women and support her,’” Freedom said. “And then, obviously, after that she started yapping, and she started to walk towards me, and literally I just got up, and then I was like, ‘I’m just here to protect women, and that’s all.’”
Freedom then said Cloud went on to use profanity in front of the fans, some of whom were children.
“She started to yell,” Freedom said. “She started to use some very heavy language. She started to actually cuss, and I was very shocked that there were a lot of kids and that there were a lot of teenagers at that game.”
“I just cannot believe that she was just cussing and using those F-bombs in front of all these kids,” he added. “I’m sure she’s loved in Chicago, and many kids are idolizing her and stuff, but that’s not how a WNBA athlete should react.”
After the game, Cloud did not speak to the media, but made a social media post which could be interpreted as the catalyst for her actions. She appeared to take issue with Freedom’s shirt and advocacy for protecting women’s sports from men. Apparently, WNBA players like Cloud believe in freedom of speech and in using platforms for political messaging, as long as that messaging aligns with views they support.
“To every trans kid/person, you are apart of my community & tribe,” Cloud posted on the Threads social media platform. “You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me.”
ENES KANTER FREEDOM EJECTED FROM WNBA GAME AFTER COURTSIDE CONFRONTATION WITH PLAYER
Interestingly, the WNBA Fan Code of Conduct stipulates that fans have the right “to expect an environment where there is No Space For Hate.” That is, unless, apparently, you are a WNBA player who supports biological men pretending they are women. At which point, you can seemingly do and say whatever you want, without any accountability, consequence-free, even if it means berating, verbally assaulting, and yelling at fans. It’s indicative of the veracity and violence embraced in contemporary left-wing politics today.
Whether on the court, in the classroom, on the streets, on college campuses, or anywhere that a contemporary left-winger, liberal, socialist, or communist wants to express their views and opinions, they are wantonly encouraged to do so through intimidation tactics, threats of violence, verbal beratings, or actual violence. And on Sunday, Natasha Cloud showed the WNBA is an enabler of such rowdy behavior.
She also showed that the WNBA is a pro-Hate zone, so long as the hate aligns with their ideological viewpoints. Then, and only then, hate is actively permitted, if not arguably outright encouraged.
