Antisemitism and Islamism are all the rage in the Democratic Party. Michigan’s Democratic Party in particular has become a haven for it, and even the top Democrats in the state know how dangerous their own party has become.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said last week that she would not be attending the party’s nominating convention. Nessel, who is Jewish, told Jewish community leaders that “I don’t want to get chased around. I don’t want to get harassed. I don’t want to get yelled and screamed at.” She said that if she went, this harassment from Democratic voters and activists “will happen because it’s been happening to me.”
JEWISH DEMOCRATS GRAPPLE WITH EL SAYED VICTORY AS REPUBLICANS SEIZE OPENING IN MICHIGAN SENATE RACE
Democratic voters then proved her right this week, choosing Abdul el Sayed as the party’s nominee for Michigan’s open Senate seat. El Sayed is a terrorist sympathizer who turned an attempted Islamic terrorist attack against a Jewish preschool in Michigan into an opportunity to condemn Israel. El Sayed is an antisemite who is obsessed with Gaza, focused more on issues in the Middle East than in his own state. Now, the majority of engaged Democratic voters in Michigan choose el Sayed as their type of candidate.
This has become a problem in Michigan, particularly in Dearborn, the first Arab-majority city in the United States. After the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist invasion of Israel (which resulted in the murder of 1,200 civilians), activists in Dearborn gathered to celebrate the slaughter. “Pro-Palestine” rallies in Dearborn have frequently featured “Death to America” chants. Dearborn somehow became the most prominent city in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary, the home of the “uncommitted” movement designed to cast protest votes against then-President Joe Biden’s nomination because Biden wasn’t anti-Israel enough for their tastes.
EL SAYED DELIVERS ISLAMIC SOCIALISM TO MICHIGAN DEMOCRATS
Michigan Democrats have already surrendered to this, as evidenced by the party endorsing a Hezbollah-supporting attorney from Dearborn for a University of Michigan regent’s position over the incumbent Jewish Democrat. Even left-wing media outlets note that Gaza is the top issue of Democratic politics in Michigan, driven by Dearborn and the Democratic activist base’s obsession with Gaza.
The fact that Nessel, a very liberal Democrat in a position of statewide power, doesn’t feel safe attending her own party’s nominating convention tells the story. The Michigan Democratic Party is the party of Abdul el Sayed and Dearborn now, a party where Gaza is more important than Michigan. As a result, antisemitism has a home in the Michigan Democratic Party, and even Michigan’s top Democrats know it.
