President Donald Trump just declared to thousands of American manufacturing workers in Michigan, “You were sold out and betrayed by globalist politicians” who let foreign countries “steal your jobs, pillage your factories, and then loot the crown jewels of American industry.” Under Trump’s leadership, we are reducing our dependence on foreign countries for materials essential to our national and economic security, as we fight to bring back millions of American manufacturing jobs.
During my time working for Trump on the campaign and as White House principal deputy press secretary, we traveled the nation and visited communities hollowed out by foreign countries cheating. From steel and electronics plants in Pennsylvania and Ohio, to heavy machinery and auto parts manufacturers in Wisconsin and Michigan, plants that once supported hundreds of thousands of American manufacturing jobs were decimated.
Fortunately, Trump has seen this playbook before, with godless communists and their allies using unfair trade practices to attack American industries such as steel, aluminum, solar panels, semiconductors, and textiles. Our president developed the Trump Trade Doctrine to stop foreign countries from ripping us off and to maintain America’s place as the world’s superpower.
For decades, globalist politicians did nothing as manufacturing communities across America’s heartland were hollowed out. Communist China, Modi’s India, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have not set their sights on critical products that go into millions of American homes. Quartz countertops are among the fastest-growing sectors of the building community, and the latest target in their war on American manufacturing. Over the last five years, domestic demand for these products has increased by 62%. However, due to unfair foreign trade, imports are up 78%, and domestic production has dropped by 17%. Today, another great American manufacturing industry is on the brink of collapse due to foreign countries waging war on American manufacturing. This cheating is being orchestrated by foreign regimes and globalist importers that don’t care about the 100,000 good-paying American jobs on the line.
Right now, a $2.5 billion dollar Indian-owned MS International is importing materials from India and a tremendous volume of natural stone from regions in China, where nearly 60% of all quartz is mined using forced labor. The Indian owned company boasts about creating 400,000 jobs worldwide, but fails to note that virtually all of them were created overseas, many in parts of China known to rely on forced and slave labor, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The multibillion-dollar importer also bankrolls Trump-hating Democrats who have petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to reject common-sense solutions to save 100,000 American jobs.
While India’s democracy is dying and becoming an autocracy according to Freedom House, Indian owned companies are also propping up well-funded special interest groups in Washington D.C. that push globalist policies while seeking to destroy American manufacturing and criticize the president’s America First trade policies. Fortunately, the bipartisan International Trade Commission has seen through these smoke and mirrors, and after a thorough investigation, found that these predatory foreign trading practices have caused “serious injury to the domestic industry.”
Despite what one globalist special interest group claims, quartz countertops account for only about 0.07% of the cost of a typical home. In fact, the bipartisan U.S. International Trade Commission estimated that proposed safeguard measures would have a nominal price impact on the cost of a $500,000 home, less than $183. That is significantly less than 1% of the purchase price, and we are talking about saving 100,000 good-paying American jobs.
STOP LOOKING AT THE WRONG DATA. AMERICA’S NEXT BOOM IS ALREADY UNDERWAY
Millions of the forgotten men and women of America stood with Trump in 2024, and they will do so again in the midterms if our president continues to fight for their jobs. Under Trump’s leadership, we cannot allow foreign countries and their proxies to manipulate markets, hollow out domestic industries, and make America increasingly dependent on regimes like Communist China and Modi’s India.
