Chris Van Hollen and his decorative margarita glass have a ‘I did not inhale’ moment

.

For a political party full of politicians who stressed the importance of being honest with the people, Democrats sure enjoy lying to people. Legislators in the left-wing political party continue to exempt themselves from the standards to which they hold Republicans. The one senator who arguably does this the most is El Salvador enthusiast Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) of “Maryland dad” fame. On Tuesday, Van Hollen’s duplicitous ways once again reared their ugly head in a spat with FBI Director Kash Patel.

After a heated exchange in the Senate on Tuesday in which Van Hollen essentially accused Patel of being a drunk, the two continued their beef on social media, regarding Patel’s alleged drinking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages in general. After the X account “Rapid Response 47” jumped into the fray, posting a picture of Van Hollen sitting at a table in El Salvador with Kilmar Abrego Garcia with what appears to be alcoholic beverages in front of them, Van Hollen responded that the drinks were not consumed.

“Glasses were placed in front of us but we did not drink them,” Van Hollen responded. “I know that may be a confusing concept for Director Patel.”

Sure, because everyone goes to a dining establishment and gets unwanted alcoholic beverages with salt rims and maraschino cherries. Such drinks were obviously just there for decorations.

It was a ridiculous comment by an absurd senator who one could only presume is so arrogant and thinks he is so much smarter than everyone else, that people would objectively believe that specially prepared alcoholic beverages just happened to be delivered to his table, but he didn’t touch them. Van Hollen’s words insulted the intelligence of everyone who read his social media post. It was painstakingly similar to another famous Democrat who struggled with the truth, former President Bill Clinton, when he claimed that he did not inhale marijuana, even though he smoked it.

“I did not drink it” should be the contents of a trending social media campaign ridiculing Van Hollen’s response.

In addition to this outlandish remark, people should also consider Van Hollen’s character assassination attempt on Patel. Without any credible evidence whatsoever, other than an agenda-driven “report” in a left-wing propagandistic publication, the Democratic senator all but called the FBI director an irresponsible, incompetent lush, over allegations of an excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, which allegedly left him incapacitated on several occasions.

And Van Hollen made such denigrating remarks even though he knew, and admitted, he had no proof that the “reports” of Patel’s excessive drinking were valid. While scolding Patel in the Senate hearing, the senator revealed he had no proof that those allegations from “credible reports” were valid. He sought to discredit the FBI director for no other reason than his dislike of the director’s politics and the president who nominated Patel.

“Reports of your being so drunk and hungover that your staff had to force entry into your home are extremely alarming,” Van Hollen said. “If true, they demonstrate a gross dereliction of your duty and a betrayal of public trust.”

If true? If

When a senator besmirches the reputation of any American, let alone the FBI director, and accuses him of being an incompetent alcoholic, he should possess legitimate evidence of him doing so, and uttering the words “if true” is unacceptable. Such slanderous allegations by Van Hollen warrant accountability and reflect the senator’s character, or lack thereof.

WHY DIDN’T ABC’S RACHEL SCOTT ASK BIDEN ABOUT HIS RECORD-HIGH GAS PRICES?

Nevertheless, this is who Van Hollen, and arguably most congressional Democrats, truly are. They are not sincere or genuine politicians concerned with improving the lives of citizens. They are Z-level actors participating in performative political theatricality. Their antics are for emotional and entertainment purposes only, while they regularly try to manipulate and influence the public in their individual and collective thirst for power.

Chris Van Hollen is a phony, and people should expose him as such.

Whether it’s visiting violent criminal illegal immigrants in El Salvador, while ignoring families in his own state who had daughters murdered by illegal immigrants, or slandering a government official as being a drunk without any proof or discernible evidence, Van Hollen has regularly shown that truth does not matter to him. His agenda-driven, faux outrage, and performative dishonesty are a staple of his politics and the politics of his Democratic colleagues in Congress. In a just world, Van Hollen would endure real accountability at the voting booth for his political sins.
