Zia Faruqui’s apology an example of ‘malignant empathy’ of radical Left in justice system

.

How and why does a judge apologize to a would-be presidential assassin?

It’s a legitimate question and one that everyone should be asking after U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia M. Faruqui did exactly that during a hearing for White House Correspondents’ Association dinner shooting suspect Cole Allen. Despite Allen being accused of wanting to murder President Donald Trump, administration officials, and other innocent people, and even though he allegedly shot a law enforcement officer, all Faruqui cared about was the criminal’s comfort level, going so far as not to just care about his jail conditions but actually apologizing to Allen for any inconveniences he may have endured.

It’s a sad and disturbing reflection of the corrosive left-wing rot plaguing the United States justice system. Moreover, it’s indicative of the dangers posed by left-wing radical activists masquerading as judges in courts across the country. It’s a phenomenon of malignant empathy that has become a recurrent theme among the Left in criminal justice matters.

In such instances, left-wing judges have demonstrated they care more about protecting evil people than about safeguarding the innocent. It’s yet another example of the harms of contemporary radical left-wing ideology. It has led to numerous innocent people being harmed by the wrath of violent criminals who should be jailed but were allowed to roam freely.

This left-wing prioritizing of the welfare of criminals over the innocent is a dangerous trend that leads to judicial decisions that endanger society. It has been a particularly harrowing development in recent years, with left-wing criminal justice reform activists masquerading as U.S. judges who have prioritized the criminal’s life over the safety of society, often with disastrous consequences.

It should be abundantly clear that murderers, or attempted murderers, are bad people. This is especially true if you allegedly planned to assassinate an entire presidential administration. The people that deserve Faruqui’s compassion are Trump, Vice President JD Vance, their wives, the other members of the administration and their families, the guests in attendance at the dinner, and the Secret Service officer who took gunshot fire allegedly from Allen. Yet, Faruqui didn’t offer any apologies to them.

And while it’s evident Faruqui is not a Trump supporter, the gavel of justice and the application of the rule of law should not be ideological. Allen is allegedly a bad man, and he does not deserve the over-the-top concern and compassion Faruqui provided. And he definitely does not deserve any apology, regardless of how uncomfortable the attempted murderer might have been in his jail stay. He is being punished for allegedly trying to kill people, not vacationing at a resort.

Faruqui’s malignant empathy is outright offensive. Unfortunately, however, it’s an occurrence that’s happening far too often. It’s this kind of unhinged, delusional, and ideologically-driven judgment that is often fatal, as was the case with the murder in August 2025 of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, whose alleged killer had a record of violent criminal activity for 20 years, but a soft-on-crime criminal justice system decided Zarutska’s suspected killer should be out of jail and on a “post-release supervision.”

RECALL WHEN VIRGINIA ATTORNEY GENERAL FANTASIZED ABOUT MURDERING A REPUBLICAN AND HIS CHILDREN AND DEMOCRATS STILL VOTED FOR HIM?

An unfortunate reality is that Faruqui is merely a symptom of the disease known as radical left-wing criminal justice ideology. There are many others nationwide, such as him, who make daily decisions that result in the innocent being harmed by the guilty, as culpable judges escape accountability. The suspect doesn’t deserve compassion, nor do any of the other murdering, violent criminals that left-wing judges regularly keep out of jail. Such abhorrent criminals deserve the friendly confines and comfortable accommodations of swift justice, not malignant empathy.

The more Faruquis there are in the judicial system, the more dangerous the U.S. will be. It takes a special kind of unhinged, fanatical, ideological subscription to offer an apology to a would-be presidential assassin. And it shows you the dangerous depths of the mental abnormalities of people in power on today’s political Left.
