The socialist promise: Fail, blame racism, repeat

.

Before dedicating his time to mass Islamic worship sessions on city streets, dinners with terrorist sympathizers, or defending his wife’s social media history, Zohran Mamdani made a lot of promises. In fact, his entire path to becoming New York City mayor was paved with these promises. Free this, free that, free everything.

Famously, the buses were going to be fast and free. The city was going to be affordable again, as if it was ever affordable to begin with. Inequality was going to be washed away like a city sidewalk outside a methadone clinic.

There’s just one problem: Socialists never deliver.

In the United States (indeed, the entire Western world) progress has always been the result of free market principles, capitalism, and individual freedom. Any policy built on socialism, and especially Mamdani’s own blend of Islamified communism, only results in something between nothing and apocalyptic carnage.

Thankfully, we’re in the nothing stage. But not to worry, Mamdani has the Democratic Party’s favorite trick up his sleeve: racism.

This week, Mamdani’s office released his “Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan,” and you’ll never guess what it found! “Systemic racial inequity” is to blame for quite literally everything!

“Inequity has been embedded in the foundation of our city and nation since their inception; dismantling it requires a collective effort,” said the city’s chief equity officer and Mamdani’s Office of Equity & Racial Justice commissioner Afua Atta-Mensah. “The NYC Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan reflects the city’s commitment to systemic transformation — turning our values into actions. From housing and healthcare to education and infrastructure, every agency plays a pivotal role in reshaping how government serves New Yorkers. This plan outlines measurable goals and actionable strategies to advance racial equity, promote justice and create lasting change.”

What does this “Preliminary Citywide Racial Equity Plan” suggest? Well, nothing concrete, of course. Instead, it’s a carbon copy of their radical playbook. First, they point out what they perceive as problems, such as racial disparities regarding median household net worth and life expectancy. Then they assume, without any evidence, that every such disparity is not only the result of government inaction but inherent American racism.

Finally, they suggest another dose of vague socialism as the only cure. They propose providing access to capital, connecting New Yorkers to “quality jobs,” helping people build “generational wealth,” ensuring healthcare access, addressing “truck-related pollutants in communities of color,” and applying a “racial equity framework” to housing proposals.

This is the same old routine from the Democratic Party. When it fails to deliver on its stream of socialist promises, it doesn’t take responsibility. Instead, the party blames its good ol’ friend racism, for which the only solution is even more socialism. It’s their favorite circular argument that guarantees that we stay miserable, locked in a spiral of victimhood while it keeps consolidating power.

The sooner New Yorkers (and all Americans) wake up to this race-hustling scam, the better.
