This Easter, praise Jesus and thank a farmer

.

This Easter, my heart overflows with hope as I think of families gathered in churches across rural America — from the Texas hills where I was raised, to the prairies and valleys that feed our nation.

Easter is a celebration of the greatest story ever told. The stone rolled away from an empty tomb and the angels declared to every broken heart: Christ is risen!

No matter the trials we face, fear and death and sin do not get the final word. With the Apostle Paul, we can proclaim, “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

CHARLIE KIRK’S MENTOR REVEALS WHAT LATE TPUSA FOUNDER ‘WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW’ ABOUT THE GOSPEL

God has truly given us victory and new life through our Lord Jesus Christ. And where there is life — risen life — there is hope.

Over the past year I’ve seen firsthand how the same power that conquered the grave is moving in America’s heartland under this administration — bringing dead dreams back to life, relieving weary families, and restoring hope that had long been lost.

Our farmers, ranchers, and producers are back at the center of the national conversation. And the nutritious food that they produce is also at the center of our kitchen tables, and soon, our schools and medical facilities. As you gather with family and friends over a home-cooked Easter dinner, thank the men and women of American agriculture who work tirelessly, every single day, to make it all possible.

Their work will be highlighted in a special way this Easter Monday on the South Lawn of the White House, where over 40,000 Americans — including more than 150 egg farmers and their families — will gather for the Easter Egg Roll. This beloved tradition will feature 30,000 real eggs donated by Braswell Farms in North Carolina, which I had the opportunity to visit this past week.

Thanks to President Donald Trump’s bold actions to combat the avian flu and lower egg prices, the wholesale price for a dozen eggs has dropped over 80% since its peak in early 2025.

Although there is much more work to do, this is a powerful sign that the seeds of hope we have been planting over the past year are bearing fruit in abundance.

As we celebrate Jesus’s Resurrection — and as we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday — let’s praise God for all the blessings he has poured out on our farmers, on our ranchers, on our rural communities, and on the entire nation.

TRUMP HIGHLIGHTS ‘DAY OF PRAYER’ AT NATIONAL MALL NEXT MONTH WITH FAITH LEADERS

May America always remain a beacon of faith, hope, and freedom for the entire world. And under Trump’s leadership, may we continue working toward a future that reflects the truth, the beauty, and the goodness of the Heavenly kingdom that Christ won for us by his death and Resurrection.

In the words of the Psalmist, “This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
