ICE is more popular than Democrats, NBC poll shows

.

A new NBC News poll reveals a crisis of confidence for the Democratic Party, with the public now viewing it more negatively than the very institutions the party frequently attacks. Most notably, the survey found that voters hold a more positive view of Immigration and Customs Enforcement than they do of the current Democratic platform.

This shift in sentiment highlights a broader trend in the data: A significant “favorability gap” favors the Republican Party, and the public is increasingly at odds with core Democratic principles.

While mainstream legacy media often portray federal agencies like ICE as deeply unpopular, this poll exposes a disconnect. Only 30% of respondents view the Democratic Party positively, while ICE maintains a higher favorability rating at 38%.

The GOP holds a 37% positivity rating, while President Donald Trump’s rating is at 42%, only 1% behind Pope Leo XIV and much higher than anyone in the Democratic Party by about 8 points.

NBC favorability poll results

The prevailing narrative, curated by the institutional Left and amplified by legacy media echo chambers, suggests a nation uniformly united in its opposition to President Trump. However, this NBC News poll exposes a staggering disconnect between this carefully maintained portrait of the American electorate and the actual data, which reveals a public far more receptive to the current administration’s agenda than the legacy press would care to admit.

A recent analysis by the Media Research Center found that 92% of the major networks’ coverage of President Donald Trump during his first 100 days back in office was negative.

“The study examined 1,841 statements made by journalists, anchors, reporters, and experts on ABC, CBS, and NBC, dismissing any non-partisan guests,” the analysis reads. “The report, which analyzed 899 stories aired during evening news broadcasts from January 20 to April 9, highlighted that 1,692 of the statements were negative.”

This highlights the partisan bias shown by the institutional Left’s media allies, whose relentless negative coverage has failed to prevent the Democratic brand from falling behind ICE in public favorability.

The Democratic Party’s brand has become more polarized and “toxic” to the average voter than a controversial federal law enforcement agency. The party’s core message is failing to resonate, even when compared to perhaps the highest-profile target of its own criticism.

By prioritizing the constant condemnation of President Donald Trump over substantive policy debate, the Democratic Party has allowed its message to be diluted by personal animus. Their fixation on the man in the White House has come at the expense of the nuanced attention America’s most pressing issues require, leaving a platform defined more by what it opposes than what it proposes.

With the midterm elections just ahead of us, Democrats’ focused censure of the Republican Party as a whole is becoming more negative and effectively drowning out the substantive policy debate that voters crave. It has evolved from sophisticated debates over political issues to name-calling and interrupting important events like Trump’s 2026 State of the Union address.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom currently holds a dismal 27% favorability rating, as his national image remains weighed down by a perceived lack of substantive leadership and a record in Sacramento that fails to resonate beyond deep-blue enclaves.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is also underwater, holding a 34% positive rating. The former 2024 Democratic nominee appears to be struggling to maintain her standing with the public, as her favorability continues to slide.

JAMES TALARICO IS THE MAMDANI OF TEXAS

In an environment where ICE, an agency the Left has spent years attempting to abolish, enjoys higher public regard than the Democratic platform, the party’s leadership must face a hard truth: Its current strategy of reflexive opposition is not a substitute for a viable vision.

The latest survey data conducted by NBC serves as a cold reality check for the Left’s messaging machine. While the legacy media continues to promote a narrative of a GOP in decline, the numbers tell the story of a Democratic Party fundamentally out of step with the American heartland. If the party continues to prioritize the person over the policy, it may find that its toxic brand will become a permanent fixture of its political identity, leaving them unable to bridge the gap with an increasingly skeptical electorate.
