The Left’s anti-ICE church protest is a bad look

.

This week, we saw the sad images of an immigrant child in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials crying by a car in Minnesota. Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) immediately and wrongly claimed that he was detained after returning home from school.

Online, friends of mine were posting images of the boy, enraged that he was separated from his loving father. Some suggested the child was being used as a prop for officials to “lure” his family out and into federal custody, with the outraged saying “an innocent minor should not be used as bait.”

Department of Homeland Security officials claimed later on X that the child was not a target, but his father was. In the statement, they said, “As agents approached the driver … fled on foot — abandoning his child. For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended [the father].”

Sadly, he is now in a federal detention facility — with his father — in Texas

Images like this hurt even a staunch “close the border” conservative such as myself from being able to win liberals to my side.

But, also this week, the Left had a bad photo op itself when dozens of angsty protesters stormed a Minneapolis church because they assumed a local ICE official worked there and disrupted a gathering of Christians.

I live in Los Angeles, so my rough estimate is that way more than half of my church is liberal. The pastor often addresses this from the pulpit, “if you knew the politics of the person next to you, you’d be appalled… But Jesus unites us all.”

And this is why leftist protesters with Don Lemon in tow should be on alert. Their stunt of blocking ICE officials doesn’t faze my liberal gal pals; they think they’re enacting true justice by protecting the “least of these.”

But when they see mothers like themselves, whom they can relate to, sitting in a pew at a church service on what should be an average Sunday, disrupted by chaos, it unnerves them.

Much like the immediate reaction after a terrorist attack, or the LA fires, or a kidnapping… these mamas are like most, emotional and initially afraid. Fear is not a winning ticket for liberals. Especially when most of the liberal women I know view church as a literal safe space that should go uninterrupted.

History shows that when it comes to their wallets and their children, most women either engage with the GOP or stay at home if they don’t like the guy (or rarely the gal) at the top of the ticket.

When you look at the images of the “white supremacists” Lemon claimed are antithetical to the Christian faith, you will see a black woman rushing out with her child, an Asian father cradling his son as his wife sits in shock, and many other families and elderly parishioners in the pews having their right to assembly and worship tarnished by leftist radicals.

Even people on the Left who believe in the right to gather, the right to protest, and who I know have cheered on attempts to stop federal law enforcement from implementing arrests and deportations, are not OK when they see activists enter a place that is supposed to be a holy and safe sanctuary.

The attempted doxxing and harassment of a pastor and his parish for a political stunt just fell flat. Instead of truly talking about the “least of these”, Lemon made himself the martyr because he’s a “gay black man in America.” His words, not mine.

Turns out, whether you’re a gay black man, a blue-haired lesbian, or a member of an organized group paid by a member of the Soros family to disrupt — when you invade a house of worship, it’s a bad look.

I often hear from my leftist friends, who think former President Barack Obama was the best who deserved his Nobel Peace Prize, that they think President Donald Trump’s style and approach are cruel and unnecessary.

VANCE TELLS MARCH FOR LIFE THAT TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS ON THEIR SIDE, DESPITE MOVEMENT’S MISGIVINGS ON ABORTION PILL AND HYDE AMENDMENT

They have said the same thing about the uncouth behavior of anti-ICE protesters at that church.

So, keep it up, progressives. Your faux-caring about people and their constitutional freedoms is showing.
