In the wake of Charlie Kirk‘s assassination, some Democrats and gun control groups have had the unmitigated gall to demand more gun control. Here is the message they need to get through their thick heads: You are never getting it, especially when you are trying to disarm the people who are being killed.
A who’s who of gun control ghouls are trying to use Kirk’s death to push reform, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Chris Murphy (D-CT). Gun control activist Shannon Watts told conservatives that “no one is safe anywhere.” Gun control groups have also joined the push. The March For Our Lives, which got its start standing on the corpses of dead children in Florida, blamed the Trump administration for its lack of gun control and all but gloated that “gun violence spares no one,” and the group Brady demanded more gun control after the shooting.
VIOLENCE AGAINST CAMPUS CONSERVATIVES HAS REACHED NEW HEIGHTS
Here’s the problem: Your gun control proposals do nothing. The liberal fact-checkers at the Washington Post have repeatedly said as much. You don’t even pretend to try to understand what you want to regulate. Case in point, the gun that was recovered from the Kirk shooting was the kind of bolt-action hunting rifle that falls under no gun control proposals whatsoever, unless you are advocating the confiscation of all firearms. Your proposals would have done nothing here, just like they would have done nothing to prevent any of the other mass shootings that you parade the dead bodies from to reach your demands.
Democrats go soft on actual criminals who use guns in their crimes and then demand that law-abiding citizens should face more and more restrictions on purchasing or even owning firearms. These gun control proposals target law-abiding citizens, not the criminals they coddle.
And, moreover, you can’t take guns away from conservatives while whipping up hatred among the lunatic left-wingers you support. Just a day before Kirk was killed, Murphy, in an interview, said, “We’re in a war right now to save this country,” and “you have to be willing to do whatever is necessary.” This was before Kirk’s death but after assassination attempts on President Donald Trump, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, New York GOP candidate Lee Zeldin, multiple GOP congressmen on a baseball field, multiple Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., and so on.
WHAT THE MURDER OF CHARLIE KIRK MEANS
No, you can’t call us Nazi fascists who are existential threats to democracy, watch multiple assassins act on that rhetoric, and then take away our guns. You are not going to sit here and parade the bodies of dead conservatives as proof that law-abiding citizens should give up their guns, which is exactly what you are advocating when you demonstrate that you don’t know, or care, what you’re trying to regulate.
Democratic gun control proposals have been next to useless, as they ignore all circumstances of every shooting, including the type of gun used and how it was acquired. Trying to rub these terrible proposals in our face now is a reminder that they do not care that none of these proposals work or even match the circumstances of Kirk’s shooting. They just want to take away people’s guns, and that will not be allowed to happen.
