Trump’s ‘one big, beautiful bill’ is a victory for America

.

For the past four years, the American people struggled to keep their heads above water. Facing a tidal wave of government red tape, unchecked inflation, and economic uncertainty, voters spoke their minds at the polls. “Bidenomics” clearly wasn’t working, and Americans weren’t interested in a copy-and-paste shell of the last administration in former Vice President Kamala Harris. Voters resoundingly chose President Donald Trump’s promise of a more prosperous future.

In 2024, approximately 81% of registered voters considered the state of the economy to be their top issue. In my home state, things were no different. Despite consistently ranking high in affordability, consumers in Iowa began to feel the pinch under the Biden administration. Something had to change.

In Congress, I’m proud to say that my colleagues and I are working alongside Trump to deliver results to Americans everywhere. The “one big, beautiful bill” is economics on steroids. It is all-encompassing tax relief for our farmers, families, workers, and businesses.

Upon passage, families can expect an increase in take-home pay of up to $13,300, with workers potentially gaining up to $11,600 in higher wages over four years. Provisions such as no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime pay, and no taxes on auto loan interest for American-made cars will certainly give families more breathing room. Additionally, an expanded child tax credit, increased standard deduction, and Trump’s accounts for newborns give families more resources and options to invest in their futures.

As the only member of the House of Representatives to sit on both the Ways and Means Committee and the Agriculture Committee, I secured some great wins for our farmers and businesses. In rural Iowa, our communities remain vibrant because businesses and farms are passed from one generation to the next. As I travel around Iowa, seeing those family names stamped on storefront windows and doors or painted on signs and mailboxes outside farms means so much to me. That’s why I made sure that Trump’s big, beautiful bill includes additional death tax relief, assistance for community banks to offer more affordable loans, resources for small businesses to offer paid family and medical leave, restoration of immediate research and development expensing, and much more.

SLOTKIN UNVEILS AN ‘ECONOMIC WAR PLAN’ TO HELP DEMOCRATS WIN BACK THE MIDDLE CLASS

These provisions aren’t just good for a wealthy few, like Democrats wrongfully claim. They’re good for Americans everywhere, from all walks of life. When Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act makes it across the finish line, families, farmers, and businesses — from coast to coast and especially in America’s heartland — will win.

The public deserves the relief they mandated on Nov. 5, 2024. I will continue to work alongside Trump until they have it.
