Randi Weingarten exemplifies DNC and union corruption

.

Randi Weingarten, the president of one of the largest teachers unions in the country, has resigned from her post at the Democratic National Committee. The fact that Weingarten even held such a position is proof of the open corruption of the Democratic Party.

Weingarten has evidently been a member of the DNC for the last 23 years, including serving on its Rules and Bylaws Committee. That fact is seemingly impossible to find in liberal media coverage of Weingarten prior to her resignation, even though Weingarten is the leader of the second-largest teachers union in the country.

This is also despite the fact that Weingarten was one of the architects of the school closures across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those closures did untold damage to children’s educational and social development, and Weingarten was their most prominent public defender, making unreasonable demands in exchange for schools reopening. Weingarten even directed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how its reopening policy should look, with the finished product justifying Democratic states to keep schools closed.

Weingarten was also a close ally of former President Joe Biden, appearing alongside him numerous times. She was part of the same DNC committee that changed the presidential primary schedule to place South Carolina first, attempting to head off primary challengers to Biden who could get momentum in more hands-on campaigning states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

This is even more notable because the American Federation of Teachers is a public union that negotiates against taxpayers. Under Weingarten, the AFT spent nearly $16.5 million in the 2024 election cycle alone, all going toward Democratic groups. Note that the Janus v. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Council 31 decision from the Supreme Court, which prevented unions from forcing nonmembers to pay dues, came in 2018. Weingarten had been a member of the DNC for 16 years at that point, and the AFT president for 10. After Janus, over 82,000 nonmembers opted out of paying these mandatory dues to the AFT.

THE ASTONISHING ARROGANCE OF RANDI WEINGARTEN

To summarize, Weingarten served as a member of the DNC while her public union, which bargains against taxpayers, was funneling money to Democrats. For most of that time, Weingarten’s AFT was taking dues from people who did not want to pay them. All the while, Weingarten was directing CDC guidance. The corruption of the teachers’ union-Democratic Party relationship was in full swing, with Weingarten representing both sides.

For all the rants from Democrats about Republican “dark money” and the undue influence of groups such as the National Rifle Association, the DNC was happy with this corrupt relationship with Weingarten and her union. Evidently, so was liberal media, which made next-to-no mention of her DNC role and offered almost no pushback against her as she used her union and DNC influence to write CDC policy and keep schools closed.
