The Army parade was a massive success

.

The parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army was a joyous occasion that honored over two centuries of sacrifices of some of the bravest men and women in our nation’s history. With the country less than 13 months from celebrating its semiquincentennial on July 4, 2026, a parade honoring 250 years of the U.S. Army was a brilliant idea. President Donald Trump has vowed to make America great again, and with Saturday’s extravaganza, he also helped make patriotism great again.

Spectators were greeted with a parade, pun intended, of American history. Chronicling the Army’s journey over 250 years, the parade started with a colonial-era unit brought to life by the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, recognizing the Army’s birth on June 14, 1775, in Philadelphia by the Second Continental Congress. Different units representing various eras in history marched by with Army soldiers dressed in the appropriate uniforms of the times.

There were some time jumps in the parade. After the Revolutionary War era, the next Army unit on display was from the Civil War, skipping the Army eras of the War of 1812, the Native American conflicts of the 1820s and 1830s, and the Mexican-American War. The 4th Infantry Division was dressed in Civil War-era uniforms, honoring the soldiers of that time. Soldiers in uniforms from each era, accompanied by Army vehicles from each generation, continued until reaching the present day, with contemporary uniforms, soldiers, vehicles, and technology.

Arguably, the most impressive display was the chronological parade of Army vehicles, from the use of horses in the 18th century to the tanks, planes, jets, helicopters, drones, and robotic dogs of the 21st century. Spectators were able to see firsthand the technological advancements of the Army throughout its existence. It was a sight to behold, especially the military flyovers showcasing different planes and aircraft over the years.

But more than the aesthetics, the parade brought an atmosphere of patriotism. It’s something that has been missing in this country for quite some time. If the parade accomplished nothing else, it eliminated the shameful miasma of American guilt the Left created that has plagued American society for decades. The allure of patriotism filled the air.

The people of this country could be proud again of their military and heroic feats over the last 250 years. We could be proud to be Americans again, proud of the Stars and Stripes again. We could look at the evolution of the U.S. Army as if it were occurring right before our very eyes and express gratitude for the bravery and courage of the soldiers of today and yesteryear and all the good they have protected and allowed to flourish in this world.

It happened because of President Donald Trump’s vision.

The Left sought to demean the parade and diminish it as nothing more than Trump’s vanity project. Yet, in reality, the only vanity project related to the parade came from those dead set on opposing it, seeking to quash the sentiments of pride and patriotism emanating from all those in attendance.

If for no other reason, that is why the parade was a massive success, and it should be remembered as such. And if there is any lesson to be learned from this, it is that no day is a bad day when there is a parade for the U.S. Army.
