Violent rioters are lighting cars on fire in Los Angeles and throwing chunks of concrete at law enforcement officers. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is siding with them, downplaying their violent acts and making President Donald Trump the target of his anger.
This all began after Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested some 44 illegal immigrants in Paramount, California. Left-wing lunatics swarmed the area to protest, including some people trying to murder federal agents by chucking large rocks at the windshields of their vehicles as they drove by. Trump then deployed the National Guard, as it was obvious that the violence would grow worse in the coming days.
Through it all, Newsom has whined and complained. He doesn’t want the National Guard to be deployed and is suing Trump over that decision. He has repeatedly said Trump is responsible for the riots because, apparently, the mere presence of federal law enforcement agents is enough to send Newsom’s activist base into fits of violence. Newsom places no blame whatsoever on the violent thugs lighting cars on fire and trying to kill federal agents with rocks and chunks of concrete. According to him, Trump “sent troops” to “manufacture chaos and violence,” and he “succeeded.”
Meanwhile, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department and California Highway Patrol are being assaulted by rioters. That is because the rioters don’t just hate federal agents — they hate any and all members of law enforcement, because they are the same style of left-wing rioters who wanted to defund the police in 2020. They are destroying property, burning American flags, waving the flags of foreign nations, and assaulting law enforcement because they hate America and everything for which it stands.
NEWSOM TAUNTS TOM HOMAN OVER IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT: ‘ARREST ME’
Newsom is trying to absolve the rioters of any and all blame for their actions because holding them responsible would highlight that Newsom has created a permission structure for violent rioters to act out in California. When Newsom says that California will hold the “bad actors fueling Trump’s flames,” rioters, accountable, he is doing so to tie them to Trump. Does anyone really think that California’s criminal justice system, which is debating whether life in prison is too mean a punishment for convicted murderers, is going to hold any left-wing rioters accountable for much of anything?
If Newsom had a real sense of justice, and better political instincts, he would have cracked down on these riots immediately. Instead, he wanted to get himself into a political feud with Trump, meaning he had to downplay these riots and blame them on some sort of Trumpian mind control that turns kind-hearted immigration protesters into violent thugs. Newsom chose to put himself on the side of the violent rioters.
