Media coverage of rising deadly antisemitism hits rock bottom

.

Legacy media has now reached a breaking point on two fronts.

And neither of them is good:

1: They are in lockstep with each other on narratives despite supposedly being competitors.

2: They are hopelessly biased to the point of almost being comical.

The exhibits today come on the heels of a horrific attack on Jews in Boulder, Colorado, in what can only be described as an attempted reenactment of the Holocaust.

You likely know the story by now: A lunatic using a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails decided to attack a peaceful gathering of Jews who met weekly to call and pray for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza

Twelve people were rushed to the hospital, including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor.

The suspect in the attack is Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who entered the country from Egypt in 2022 with a visa and overstayed after he was supposed to go back home.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, nearly 40% of those entering the country through the program have overstayed their visas. In Soliman’s case, the Biden administration was kind enough to offer him not one but two work permits after he was already breaking the law.

Eventually, Soliman requested asylum, which buys time because the court system hearing such cases is overwhelmed and backed up for years.

So, for any news organization reporting on this, it should be a relatively easy initial story to run, along with several layers around the overall catastrophe of our immigration system, given all the overstays and potential bad actors plotting to do more of the same throughout the country.

But instead of laying out the facts, legacy media sought to hide the critical parts, most notably Soliman’s illegal status.

Here are the six worst examples:

A) CBS News headline, Sunday: “Attack on Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall in Colorado burns several people, police say; suspect in custody”

Burns several “people.”
“Suspect” in custody.

Here’s the headline that should have been used:

“Antisemitic attack with flamethrower on Jewish gathering in Colorado by illegal Pro-Hamas suspect puts multiple victims in hospital”

B) USA Today headline: “Boulder suspect’s daughter dreamed of studying medicine. Now she faces deportation”

You read that correctly. Instead of USA Today doing any profiles on the Jewish victims being treated in burn units, reporter Michael Loria decided on a sob story about the suspect’s daughter’s plight of being deported because her father literally tried to execute Jews in broad daylight.

Never once does Loria or his editors at USA Today decide to include the rather important fact that Soliman is here illegally. Instead, it portrays the family as victims of President Donald Trump while portraying Soliman’s daughter, Habiba, as a girl whose dreams are shattered thanks to the president’s policy.

Loria: “Habiba Soliman’s interest in medicine goes back to her father, according to a Colorado Springs Gazette profile celebrating her winning one of the outlet’s ‘Best and Brightest’ senior class scholarships. She told the outlet that she wanted to study medicine after seeing how her father regained the ability to walk after a difficult surgery. She described the result as ‘magic.’”

By the way, aren’t there also hospitals in Egypt? Don’t they also have medical schools there? She can still study to be a doctor in her homeland.

On cue, just one day later, a Biden-appointed judge ruled that the family, which also reportedly overstayed their visas, could not be deported by the Trump administration without a proper hearing.

What a joke.

C) Ken Dalanian, NBC News, in a post on X: “Worth noting that flamethrowers are legal and commercially available for sale. Elon Musk’s company even sold some several years ago.”

Yes, the recently-promoted Dalanian actually found a way to make an antisemitic attack on Jews by an illegal who used a flamethrower about… Elon Musk? If Soliman instead decided to run over his victims with a car, would Dalanian have blamed Musk for making cars?

This is 31 flavors of stupid.

D) Maria Cardona, CNN, on NewsNight with Abby Phillip this week during a panel discussion about the Boulder attacks:

“The rise of antisemitism in the last decade can be correlated with the rise of Donald Trump. The kind of language that he uses… gives a permission slip for all of this antisemitic language to be used.”

Wait… what? What does an Egyptian man who stayed here illegally to attempt to burn Jews alive have to do with Trump? What antisemitic language has he used in the past? His daughter, Ivanka, is literally married to a Jewish man, Jared Kushner, and they raise their children Jewish. In a related story, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently called Trump “the best friend Israel has ever had.”

If you are wondering why CNN seems to have more employees than viewers at this point, look no further than its decision to put “analysts” like Cordona on its air to attempt to connect these kinds of dots.

E) NBC News headline: Lone wolf attacks on Jewish Americans in Boulder and D.C. highlight the difficulties in securing public spaces.

Yep. Just a continuous flow of “lone wolf” attacks by people all screaming “Free Palestine,” targeting the same group (Jews). No pattern here whatsoever.

Make no mistake: This is the result of protests on American college campuses calling to “globalize the intifada.” Well, guess what? It’s here. Whether it be the Pennsylvania governor’s residence being set on fire because Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) just happens to be Jewish, or the Israeli Embassy attack leaving a young couple murdered, or what happened in Boulder, this is an undeniable trend that feels like it’s only going to get worse.

F) ABC News headline: “National crime data shows the Boulder attack came amid a dramatic increase in antisemitic and Islamophobic hate crimes across the nation.”

Yes, on cue, ABC News decides to follow the New York Times’ lead from last month to lament the alleged rise of “Islamophobic hate crimes.”

But we haven’t read much at all about such crimes in the news. Did an Islamophobic person attempt to set fire to any Muslim groups recently?

The New York Times pulled the same card recently with this headline following the murder of two Israeli Embassy workers, a young couple, who were taken down by Elias Rodriguez, who said, “he did it for Palestine.”

“Pro-Palestian Movement Faces an Uncertain Path After D.C. Attack”

WILL KARINE JEAN-PIERRE SPILL THE BEANS ON BIDEN?

There are no words. Won’t anyone think of the victims in the pro-Palestine movement?

Quite frankly, this “journalism” has been exercised since the attacks of Oct. 7, some instances being more egregious than others, but all seemingly going in the same direction. Until some objectivity, integrity, and basic lucidity are restored, the attacks, bloodshed, and burning will only continue.
