Are the FDA and drugmakers covering up the abortion pill’s risks?

.

We need to come face-to-face once again with the fact that we cannot trust the medical establishment.

The Food and Drug Administration says the abortion pill is safe for mothers (by design, it is not safe for in utero children), and that only 1 in 200 women who take the drug experience significant adverse effects.

The manufacturers, Danco (which makes and markets the name-brand abortion pill Mifeprex) and GenBioPro (which makes and markets the generic version, mifepristone), also insist that their trials prove the drug’s safety and efficacy. Industry and regulators agreed during the Biden administration that the safeguards on chemical abortions could safely be lowered, and that doctors didn’t need to be involved at all.

Now, new research suggests that the drugmakers and their regulators are vastly understating the harm the drug causes their customers. Two scholars at the Ethics and Public Policy Center reviewed the health insurance claims from over 800,000 chemical abortions. They found that severe adverse effects are far more common, occurring in about 1 in 10 cases.

In fact, the insurance records suggest that 4.73% of all abortions by mifepristone resulted in an emergency room visit.

EPPC is a pro-life organization, so some skepticism is warranted — and such scrutiny surely is coming from the legacy media, which reflexively defends abortion.

But surely the findings deserve just as much skepticism and scrutiny. One would have to be willfully blind to take the drugmakers or their regulators at their word and to believe that they are straight shooters.

Danco is a privately owned company that keeps its financial backing a secret. The only drug the company sells is the abortion drug. It is an entity with a single purpose: peddling abortion drugs. Its claims to safety are hardly to be taken as gospel.

What about the FDA, or the rest of the medical establishment? Wouldn’t some elite institution have blown the whistle before now if the drug was really dangerous?

Take a breath and consider what the last few years have shown us about the medical and public health establishments.

The highest levels of the federal health establishment took part in a cover-up of the origins of COVID-19.

The American Academy of Pediatrics abandoned its position in favor of school reopening, apparently because President Donald Trump agreed with them.

In 2020, the Lancet, the world’s most prestigious medical journal, published a letter dismissing out of hand the idea that COVID-19 may have leaked from a laboratory, and then published an apparent fabrication dismissing hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 treatment.

And of course, in June 2020, a thousand public health officials took a break from scolding mayors and governors who opened their public beaches to proclaim that the massive, crowded protests following George Floyd’s death were “vital to the national public health.”

HAWLEY CRITICIZES FDA’S MAKARY OVER HAVING ‘NO PLANS’ FOR ABORTION PILLS

Around the same time, the world-renowned Mayo Clinic stopped referring to pregnant women as women or mothers, but as “pregnant people.”

With this in mind, would anyone be surprised if various medical establishments, in and out of government, covered up the deadly side effects of an abortion industry product?
