Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was content to make Canada a vehicle of Palestinian propaganda and Hamas interests. His replacement, Mark Carney, has been more coy on the topic before now, and it looks like he is going to follow down the same anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian propaganda path as his predecessor.
Shortly after being elected as the leader of Canada’s Liberal Party, making him the next prime minister in a few days’ time, Carney hopped on X to give Hamas a propaganda win. “It has been more than two days that the supply of electricity to Gaza has been shut off. It must resume — essentials including food, electricity, and medical supplies should never be used as political tools,” Carney said. “Canada must work with our allies to stand up for international law.”
Israel has cut off electricity to Gaza because Hamas is still holding Israelis hostage to use as leverage for a “ceasefire” that will allow the terrorists to regroup and attack Israel again in the future. More importantly, Israel has cut off electricity to Gaza because Gaza is run by terrorists who want to commit genocide against Israelis. Israel is under no obligation to provide electricity (or much of anything else) to the people who are actively trying to wipe it off the map.
MARK CARNEY WINS CANADA ELECTION TO BECOME TRUDEAU’S SUCCESSOR
The Jerusalem Post described Carney as a “wildcard” on Canadian-Israeli relations and said that he has offered “mixed signals” since meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2012. The first thing he thought of after being designated as Canada’s next prime minister was to attack Israel for not helping the terrorists waging a decadeslong war against it. He even invoked “international law” in his post, which suggests he will happily support the arrest of Netanyahu that is demanded by the International Criminal Court, as Trudeau did last November.
Trudeau clearly lacked any sense of moral clarity on this issue, which is why he sided Canada with terrorists and antisemitic global bureaucrats in demanding that Netanyahu be arrested for defending his country. This is Carney’s first statement of note on the issue since becoming Canada’s next leader, and it suggests he, too, lacks moral clarity. This indicates that Canada will remain a useful idiot for Palestinian terrorists on the global stage under his leadership.
