Butler County first responders to march in Trump’s inauguration parade

.

Inauguration Day will be filled with a variety of ceremonies, including the traditional Presidential Parade, which will feature thousands of participants. Among them will be the emotional presence of Butler County, Pennsylvania, first responders, who are attending in honor of former fire chief Corey Comperatore, who tragically lost his life during the attempted assassination of President-elect Donald Trump in July 2024.

The festivities will also include prominent entertainers who will be performing at the swanky balls, including the Village People and Jason Aldean at the Liberty Ball and Parker McCollum and Rascal Flatts at the Commander in Chief Ball, according to a Presidential Inaugural Committee spokesperson.

The White House Historical Society explains that there are three key features that characterize nearly every presidential inauguration: the oath of office taken by the president at the Capitol, the inaugural parade, and the inaugural ball.

Initially, it was local committees of District of Columbia citizens who organized the celebrations surrounding the inauguration.

As the balls grew larger, more official, and more elaborate, so did the committees organizing them.

By 1881, a joint resolution was passed as the city prepared for the inauguration of then-President-elect James A. Garfield. A Presidential Inaugural Committee was formed with a chairman appointed by the president-elect, and it authorized the War and Navy Departments to lend logistical support.

It was not renewed again until 1953.
