It has been five years since the COVID-19 pandemic sprung out of Wuhan, China, and the World Health Organization is still incapable of doing anything other than begging the Chinese Communist Party to let it view more information about the origins of the virus.
The World Health Organization commemorated five years since the start of the pandemic with a statement saying, “We continue to call on China to share data and access so we can understand the origins of COVID-19. This is a moral and scientific imperative. Without transparency, sharing, and cooperation among countries, the world cannot adequately prevent and prepare for future epidemics and pandemics.”
Let’s put this in a way that is so simple that even the WHO health brain trust can understand: China does not care. China does not care about “moral and scientific imperative.” China does not care about “transparency, sharing, and cooperation” to “adequately prevent future pandemics.” We know this because, aside from being an authoritarian, expansionist, communist regime, China lied to the WHO about the virus being able to spread from person to person and China has repeatedly refused any real investigation into the origins of the virus.
So why, then, does China still have any role in the World Health Organization, let alone in the rest of the United Nations? Even if you don’t believe the most likely explanation for the origins of COVID-19, that it came from a Wuhan lab; China actively covered up the spread of the virus and its severity; lied to the world; and is now blocking any investigation into how this all happened in the first place. China sabotaged global responses to COVID-19 and is sabotaging any preparations for future pandemics.

Despite this, the WHO still orients its focus around China. If it didn’t, Taiwan would have become a full and trusted member after trying to warn the WHO and the world that China was lying about the severity of COVID-19. Instead, the WHO is left begging China for access after the organization previously launched a sham “investigation” to exonerate China and is somehow surprised that the Chinese Communist Party isn’t cooperating for the good of humanity.
If this shows anything, it is that the WHO is a useless organization that is, at best, made up of the most naive fools on the planet and, at worst, a willing collaborator in Chinese propaganda that makes the world less safe. Either way, not a single American dollar should ever go to the WHO or to the U.N. bureaucrats who celebrate it.
