Does Vice President Kamala Harris care about Catholic Americans? It’s a legitimate question to ask after last week’s events. Consider her snub of the traditional Al Smith Dinner, held last week in New York City. Then, in a further demonstration of her disdain for Christianity, she told a group of people who shouted “Jesus is Lord” and “Christ is king” at her campaign event that they were “at the wrong rally.”
Apparently, 16 days before the election, Harris has turned to Christophobia as a political platform. Because, let’s face it, it is really hard to believe that she would tell any Muslim or Jewish person that they were “at the wrong rally,” regardless of what they may have said in a protest. Harris is, after all, the candidate who believes in “protecting our democracy,” of which free speech is a core tenet.
Sen J.D. Vance (R-OH) noticed this disturbing and puzzling trend too.
“I say this as a Christian, as a person who was baptized for the first time just a few years ago,” Vance said. “There is something really bizarre with Kamala Harris’s anti-Christian rhetoric and anti-Christian approach to public policy.”
Consider the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner that Harris bailed on. A presidential tradition going back for over 60 years, the event is arguably one of the most-anticipated events during each presidential election. Known for its association with Catholic voters in the country, the dinner is organized by the Archdiocese of New York and chaired by the archbishop of New York. It has evolved into a “ritual of American politics.” And Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, blew off the highly regarded event, blaming the absence on a scheduling conflict.
However, it should be noted that while Harris couldn’t fit the Al Smith dinner into her schedule (except by prerecorded video), she had no problem making time for the podcast Call Her Daddy. If actions speak louder than words, then Harris’s decision to prioritize a lewd, raunchy, and sex-centered podcast that regularly supports, embraces, and actively encourages immoral and hedonistic behavior spoke volumes. It’s indicative of her character and should be considered a reflection of her values.
Harris has demonstrated that the principles and ideas of Catholicism pale in comparison to the interests and desires of people such as podcast host Alex Cooper. Rather than attend a charity dinner that raises money for “New York’s most vulnerable women and children,” the female vice president of the United States prioritized appearing on a show that discussed such sophisticated topics as foot fetishes, sugar daddies, oral sex techniques, and who suggested that less physically attractive women engage in risqué sexual behavior to increase their appeal to men — quite hypocritical given Harris’s previous crusade against Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings.
This should have a significant impact on voters. This is not just some minor lapse in judgment. The Democratic nominee for the highest office in the land, the sitting vice president of the United States of America, didn’t think it was worth her time to attend a charity dinner for an organization that raises money for women and children. She did, however, find time for a glorified sex podcaster. The decision to do so was despicable, disgraceful, and, quite frankly, kind of trashy.

A Harris presidency would be an immoral presidency. It would encourage and enable despicable societal behavior. It would support degrading behavior and hedonistic pursuits. That little shred of morality left in American society would be exhausted if Harris were elected president. Choosing the Call Her Daddy podcast over the Al Smith dinner supports such a hypothesis.
An old saying, often attributed to Maya Angelou, advises, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” Kamala Harris has repeatedly shown the country who she is. It is time for the country to start to believe her.
