Harris’s very bad, no good, terrible week

.

Vice President Kamala Harris is running a lazy campaign. It should be no surprise that, with election season speeding up as the race comes down the stretch, she is finishing up her worst week of the campaign.

Harris’s campaign has been lazy since it launched, not bothering to put her in front of the media for weeks and avoiding unscripted interactions like the plague. Last week, Harris flocked to the friendliest media imaginable, including liberal Howard Stern, “comedian” Stephen Colbert, the liberal haven of The View, and a sex podcast that has no political investment except on abortion. This week, Harris finally put herself in front of an interviewer who isn’t nearly certain to vote for her in November, sitting down with Fox News’s Bret Baier.

It was a disaster because Harris is so woefully unprepared for even the most basic questions she should expect to get from an interviewer who doesn’t worship the ground on which she walks. The most prominent example from Baier’s interview, showing that Harris is too lazy to prepare for interviews, came when Baier pointed out that 79% of people think the country is on the wrong track and “that track follows 3 1/2 years of you being vice president and President Biden being president.”

Harris’s response: “And Donald Trump has been running for office … come on.”

The laziness continued throughout the week. After Israel killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Harris celebrated the news. Left unmentioned was the fact that Israel killed Sinwar in Rafah, which had been designated a safe zone. To the surprise of absolutely no one who recognizes Hamas terrorists as the human-shield-using cowards they are, Sinwar and other Hamas terrorists hid out in the safe zone hoping Israel wouldn’t come after them if gullible “leaders” worldwide pressured them not to.

Harris was among those gullible fools, having warned in March that she “studied the maps” and decided there could be bad consequences for Israel if it went into Rafah.

Harris capped off her terrible week by ditching the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, a traditional campaign event for nearly a century, either out of fear of being in front of a crowd she didn’t control or a crowd that was Catholic. It could go either way. Instead, she sent in a cringeworthy video complete with an unfunny skit that made the dinner audience uncomfortable.

The lack of effort in trying to win over voters is apparent in everything Harris does. She does not feel she owes them real answers on her positions or her record, nor does she even feel she owes them her presence at events that have been traditions for presidential candidates to attend. Harris’s campaign gets worse every week the election approaches because the expectations continue to go up, but her laziness and entitlement remain the same.
