Vice President Kamala Harris has kicked up her media appearances over the last few days, and it hasn’t gone well. From television interviews to radio programs to podcasts, the appointed Democratic nominee for president has decided to stop hiding from interviews after early voting has started in the country and with less than a month until Election Day. Yet one thing has remained consistent in her campaign: She continues to ignore, deceive, and lie about her horrific political record — especially on border security and immigration.
By every available metric and analysis of Harris’s record on immigration since she has been vice president and border czar, it is abundantly clear she has a horrible record on border security and illegal immigration. She knows it, and everyone knows it, but it doesn’t prevent her from lying about her failures — and she often does so in stunningly incoherent fashion.
Look no further than the vice president’s recent interview on 60 Minutes with Bill Whitaker, in which she was pressed about her immigration record as vice president. Harris’s answers were nothing more than word salads that completely lacked substance and made little sense.
“There was a historic flood of undocumented immigrants coming across the border the first three years of your administration,” Whitaker asked. “As a matter of fact, arrivals quadrupled from the last year of President Trump. Was it a mistake to loosen the immigration policies as much as you did?”
“It’s a long-standing problem. And solutions are at hand. And from Day One, literally, we have been offering solutions,” Harris said.
“What I was asking was, was it a mistake to kind of allow that flood to happen in the first place?” Whitaker said.
“I think the policies that we have been proposing are about fixing a problem, not promoting a problem,” Harris replied.
“But the numbers did quadruple under your watch,” he started to say before being interrupted.
“And the numbers today, because of what we have done, we have cut the flow of illegal immigration by half. We have cut the flow of fentanyl by half. But we need Congress to be able to act to actually fix the problem,” Harris said in the exchange with the CBS journalist.
Harris’s response is indicative of her regular omissions, misrepresentations, and inability to accept responsibility for horrific immigration policies. These were nonanswers and disingenuous replies to hide her incompetence.
Recall when she lied to the public in 2022 and said the United States had a secure border. This statement was later rebutted by her boss, President Joe Biden, who admitted that the border hasn’t been secure “in the last 10 years.”

Harris spent most of the week making media appearances to make herself more appealing to voters. In reality, any honest person will admit she failed to accomplish this. Instead, Harris skirted around every vital topic and question she was asked, especially by veteran journalist Whitaker. Instead, she cozied up to left-wing sycophants on The View, comedian Stephen Colbert, and past-his-prime shock jock Howard Stern — all of whom never challenged Harris but engaged in episodes fueled with propaganda and adoration.
Objectively, the Harris media blitz failed. All it accomplished was to reinforce to the public just how unqualified Harris is for office. She consistently sought to increase her exposure to the public. Yet she might as well have remained hiding because when it came to providing answers with genuine substance, Harris was completely invisible.
