President Joe Biden silent as gas prices increase

President Joe Biden has had a complicated history with gas prices during his term. After the country enjoyed relatively low fuel prices during the Trump administration, prices skyrocketed to record highs in 2022. Biden, who campaigned on accepting responsibility and not passing blame on others, subsequently attributed the hike to Trump, Putin, the war in Ukraine, and seemingly anyone and everything but himself. Then, when prices started to drop, Biden regularly took credit. Now, as gas prices have started to go back up again, Biden is conspicuously quiet on the issue.

According to AAA, the current national average for regular gas is $3.67 per gallon. Last week, it was $3.60, and a month ago, the average was $3.45. That’s a pretty steep increase in a little bit of time, especially since Biden and many congressional Democrats were celebrating gas prices dropping not too long ago. When gas prices drop, Biden will hit the media circuit and brag that his economic policies and programs “are working.” Yet, when the opposite happens, Biden, or any Democrat, is nowhere to be found.

FIVE HOUSE REPUBLICANS WHO MADE WAVES OVER 100 DAYS OF CONGRESS

The whole thing is indicative of the deceit and propaganda that is at the core of the Biden administration. He takes credit when the news is good, but shifts blame to others when things start to go south. Since he has been president, he has yet to take responsibility for anything that has contributed to the people’s hardships. It’s almost a shock that he hasn’t blamed increasing prices on the war in Ukraine or Russian President Vladimir Putin – two of the most frequent scapegoats Biden has used in the past. It won’t surprise me if that becomes part of his administration’s propagandist messaging in the future if prices continue to rise.

President Joe Biden frequently spreads misinformation and has a long, distinguished history of entanglements with the truth. He has shown he doesn’t really care about the plights of the working people in the country but only their opinion of him. His deception is part of his ploy to maintain power. As gas prices continue to rise, Biden’s course of action will hinge on either ignoring the issue entirely or finding the latest boogeyman to blame for his administration’s struggles and failures.
