Why the media doesn’t care about Democrats promoting violence

Just hours after a transgender person murdered six people in a school shooting at a Christian school, the press secretary for the Democratic governor of Arizona promoted gun violence against “transphobes.” The response from establishment media has been nothing more than a collective shrug.
Josselyn Berry was the press secretary for Gov. Katie Hobbs, the recently elected Democratic governor of the Grand Canyon State. A transgender man (i.e., a woman) targeted a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, killing six people, including three children. In the aftermath of that attack, Berry thought it was appropriate to tweet out a gif of a woman holding two guns with the caption, “Us when we see transphobes.”
NASHVILLE SHOOTING: HOW GENDER IDEOLOGY HINDERS MORAL CLARITY
This tweet remained up for over 28 hours, with Berry never thinking to take it down and no one in Hobbs’s office telling her to do so. Berry took her account private late Tuesday night and submitted her resignation overnight. To reiterate, the main spokeswoman for a Democratic governor promoted gun violence against “transphobes” just hours after six people were shot at a Christian school, and that post was up for 28 hours before someone decided that it was a problem. Seems like a big deal, doesn’t it?
As a result of this, Hobbs issued just a four-sentence statement about how the post “is not reflective of the values of the administration.” The Washington Post published just a two-paragraph blurb on the resignation. The New York Times has not covered it, nor has NBC News, CBS News, ABC News, or CNN.
The usual suspects who wail about polarization and political violence and “stochastic terrorism” when it can hurt the Right have remained completely silent on this for over 38 hours now since the tweet has been posted. This was not some loony activist or minor state politician. This was the press secretary for the Democratic governor of Arizona. You need only imagine the meltdown that would ensue if this situation was reversed and a GOP press secretary was promoting violence against “groomers” after a shooter targeted transgender people.

Establishment media does not care about violence that cannot be exploited for their political goals. That is why some attacks spawn accusations that the GOP is fomenting violence while others focus on assault weapons, as they did with this attack. Others are pushed into the background because they don’t fit a narrative, such as the Sacramento gang shootout perpetrated with handguns that disappeared from the media as soon as the facts became clear.
Establishment media are not here to inform, they are here to advocate on behalf of Democrats. That is why this story has been ignored, and why they are making the real stories of the Nashville shooting about assault weapons and the “backlash” against the transgender community. They must always come to the defense of their protected groups, and Democratic politicians are at the top of the list.
