John Kerry defends private jets because elites are ‘working harder’ to save the planet

John Kerry is President Joe Biden’s “special presidential envoy for climate.” He is also a useful idiot for both the Chinese Communist Party and the climate cult of the elites.
Kerry claimed there is no hypocrisy in wealthy elites fearmongering about climate change while continuing to use private jets because “they offset, they buy offsets, they offset, and they are working harder than most people I know to be able to try to effect this transition.”

You see, climate change is the biggest threat to humanity, and it is an emergency, but super-wealthy elites should still be able to fly their private jets around the world because they “buy offsets.” These modern-day indulgences allow them to buy their way out of climate sin, meaning they can do whatever activities that destroy the climate because they can throw enough money into the climate pot to cancel it out.
Even if we take for granted that climate offsets work perfectly and aren’t a scam, this private jet apologia ignores a key point. If climate change is such an emergency, why do these elites not simply buy offsets and also not fly their private jets? All the criticisms of traveling to grand conferences instead of doing them virtually still apply. We are told we need to sacrifice gas-powered stoves, reliable cars, meat, and other things to save the planet. Why can’t elites sacrifice their private jets?
Ah, because they just work so hard. These elites are “working harder than most people I know,” according to Kerry. How else would we save the planet if these elites were not flying to elitist conferences and lecturing the peasants through a room of fellow elites? As Kerry himself said when defending his private jet flight to accept a climate award, it’s the “only choice for somebody like me.”
This is the warped worldview that results from buying into the climate cult. You can contribute to destroying the planet so long as you buy “offsets” so that your quality of life need not change as you zip around the world on your private jet. This same warped worldview leads people to dismiss atrocities in China, as Kerry has, because building solar panels is more important than addressing China’s genocide of the Uyghurs.

If this were such an urgent crisis, Kerry would condemn private jet flights (and would have stopped taking them years ago, not just after he was criticized for them) regardless of the offsets. The elites who make up the climate cult do not see climate change as an emergency, though. They see it as an opportunity to force lifestyle changes on the peasants who can’t afford to buy “offsets,” which is why Kerry is harsher on them than on his pals with the private jets.
