In an era when most professional athletes have embraced radical left-wing brainwashing, National Hockey League players have been among the only ones courageous enough to resist.
On Saturday, the San Jose Sharks held a Pride Night at their hockey arena, and the team was supposed to wear a promotional “pride-themed” jersey during pregame warmups. James Reimer, the Sharks goalie, chose not to participate, citing his religious beliefs. He should be applauded for his courage in making this decision.

Hockey players have taken the lead in not succumbing to the Left’s propaganda and intimidation tactics. Reimer is the latest NHL player to refuse to participate. The Philadelphia Flyers’s Ivan Provorov, also because of religious beliefs, did so earlier this year and was ruthlessly criticized for doing so. Both are defying pressure from a left-wing culture mob and staying true to their beliefs. They stood firm and had the guts to do what many others hadn’t done. Their bravery deserves recognition.
“For all 13 years of my NHL career, I have been a Christian — not just in title, but in how I choose to live my life daily,” Reimer said through the Sharks’s Twitter account. “I have a personal faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins and, in response, asks me to love everyone and follow him. I have no hate in my heart for anyone, and I have always strived to treat everyone that I encounter with respect and kindness. In this specific instance, I am choosing not to endorse something that is counter to my personal convictions which are based on the Bible, the highest authority in my life. I strongly believe that every person has value and worth, and the LGBTQIA+ community, like all others, should be welcomed in all aspects of the game of hockey.”
No one should have any problem with what Reimer said, but they sure will. The Left wants to force everyone to surrender to their way of thinking. The people who claim to be the most accepting and understanding are also the most intolerant of anyone who disagrees.
But bravery without adversity is not bravery at all. Fortunately, Reimer was brave enough to stay true to his beliefs and not surrender to the Left’s intimidation and harassment techniques. His courage will hopefully inspire others too.
