A 7-year-old Michigan girl is being credited with saving her great-grandmother who became trapped under a rolling SUV.
The moment was captured on the family’s doorbell video last week.
“She was picking me up from school and she thought the car was in park, but it was in reverse,” Mariah Galloway told WXYZ. “And she got out and it started moving and she was trying to stop it because I was in it.”

Galloway explained that her great-grandmother’s leg and foot became stuck under a tire. That’s when the 7-year-old’s quick thinking sprang into action. She pulled the keys out of the car’s ignition and ran to get her mother.
“When I opened the door, all I heard was Mariah screaming,” Galloway’s mother, Porchia Lane, said. “When I got out there, there was blood everywhere.”
Lane said her grandmother was able to get her foot free, and an ambulance arrived to transport her to the hospital, where she has been receiving blood transfusions.
Galloway, who celebrated her eighth birthday Monday, reflected on the situation and said: “Be very careful and always follow your heart.”

Lane said their grandmother is doing better.
“She was trying to save Mariah, and here Mariah saved her,” Lane added.
