Kirk Cameron reflected on the trajectory of his career and said his goal is to do “the next right thing that God puts in front of me.”
The actor and film producer recently published the faith-based children’s book As You Grow that follows the journey of a tree’s growth and details the value of “biblical wisdom through the seasons of life.” He is now touring the country reading the book at libraries, beginning with the Placentia Library, located in California near Los Angeles.
‘TAKE BACK THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF OUR CHILDREN’: KIRK CAMERON EXPANDS STORY TIME TOUR
“For this moment in time, [my focus is] joining a loving army of prayerful, protective parents and grandparents who want to fight for the minds of our children and the future of our country,” Cameron told the Washington Examiner.
The Growing Pains star who has gone on to act in and produce films called his recent role of children’s book author unexpected.
“If I’ve learned anything over the last three years, it’s that we can all make our plans, but often those plans get changed and altered by things like pandemics and unexpected political events,” Cameron said.
“A man can plan his steps, but his path is determined by the Lord,” he added, referencing the Bible verse Proverbs 16:9.

Cameron announced he would be expanding his story time tour to libraries across the nation after receiving an overwhelming response at two libraries who were part of around 50 to originally reject his story time request.
