Lisa Marie Presley dead: Daughter of Elvis dies at 54 after cardiac arrest

Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley has died at the age of 54.
Presley, the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, suffered cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California, Thursday.
Lisa Marie Presley was given CPR before being taken to the hospital. Once there, she was reportedly briefly placed in a medically induced coma.

Priscilla Presley announced her daughter’s death Thursday night.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
Earlier Thursday, Priscilla Presley took to Instagram asking for prayers for her daughter.
“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care,” she said. “Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”
Lisa Marie Presley’s last public appearance was Tuesday night at the Golden Globe awards with her mother as actor Austin Butler won for portraying her father in the film Elvis.

In an interview prior to the awards show, Lisa Marie Presley needed to hold on to her manager and date for the evening, Jerry Schilling.
“I’m gonna grab your arm,” she is heard saying to Schilling.

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times. She spent roughly six years with Danny Keough, the father of her children. She was also famously linked to the late Michael Jackson from 1994 until 1996 and to actor Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004.

Lisa Marie Presley had two children — actress-model Riley Keough and Benjamin Storm Keough, who died by suicide in 2020.
Brandon Presley, a Mississippi Democrat and cousin of Elvis, tweeted his condolences shortly after word of Lisa Marie Presley’s death became public.
“Such sad news tonight that Lisa Marie Presley has passed away,” he said. “She was the apple of her father’s eye and helped to ensure his memory lived on through her relationship with fans worldwide. She embodied his care and love every day.”
