A top conservative advocacy group is starting a seven-figure ad campaign urging Congress to put political differences aside and begin addressing voters’ top concerns.

In the ad campaign released Tuesday, Americans for Prosperity is calling on members of both parties to push past “political gridlock” and start introducing solutions to problems such as crime and inflation. The campaign is set to air nationwide through TV commercials, digital advertising, billboards, and posters, as well as through direct outreach and events, according to the group.

“To the 118th Congress — how will you be defined? Like those before you, will you be known for political theater?” a narrator says in the ad. “Or will you help solve our cost-of-living crisis? Will you spend responsibly to bring down inflation, remove red tape to lower our energy bills, make it easier to find fulfilling work?”

To the 118th Congress…

AFP is spending roughly seven figures on the ad campaign, the group told Fox News, although the actual number is not entirely clear. AFP has not responded to a request for comment by the Washington Examiner.

The ad campaign comes in response to the new makeup of lawmakers in the 118th Congress as Democrats take control of the Senate and Republicans hold the majority in the House. The composition marks a newly divided government after the Democrats held control of both chambers of Congress since 2018.

AFP’s “Dear Congress” campaign proposes three priorities for lawmakers to focus on over the next two years, such as lowering inflation through “better budgeting,” removing barriers to domestic energy production, and increasing opportunities for “fulfilling work.”

“By passing an actual budget, unleashing American ingenuity, and freeing up members of our workforce to utilize their talents where and when they want to, we can get our economy roaring again,” the group said in a statement.
