‘Take back the hearts and minds of our children’: Kirk Cameron expands story time tour

In wanting to help parents push back against “the storm of wokeism that appears to be sweeping the nation,” Kirk Cameron is “hitting the road” to take his new faith-based children’s book to libraries across the nation.
After receiving an overwhelming response at two libraries that were part of around 50 libraries that originally rejected his story time request, Cameron now has plans to expand his story time tour, starting with Los Angeles this weekend.

“We’re hitting the road and we’re answering the cries of parents seeing our country head in the wrong direction,” Cameron told the Washington Examiner. “Concerned moms and dads and grandparents have felt like they’ve had duct tape over their mouth and are afraid to talk about their values, [but] when somebody else breaks the ice, so to speak, it awakens that mom heart and that dad heart.”
The actor, film producer, and author said he desires to use this library story time tour to “take back the hearts and minds of our children” in support of parents who desire to “be part of a movement that pushes back against the storm of wokeism that appears to be sweeping the nation and sucking their children into its vortex.”
Cameron noted that he has received an overwhelming number of requests to bring his book, As You Grow, and other works that tackle topics of “honesty and courage, true leadership, and what does it mean to have faith and virtue.”
He likened the current culture of the United States to prime ground for “the next Great Awakening.”
“We’ve had them in the past in our country during times of moral decline and spiritual apathy and political corruption,” he said. “Those are often the times where people realize that the stakes are high. Their children’s futures are on the line.”
