Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tweeted an article excerpt Monday suggesting her Twitter account was locked after a spat with rapper Andre Young, known as Dr. Dre, over the use of one of his songs in a Twitter video she posted.
Young threatened legal action against her over the video that highlighted Greene’s political deftness following the swearing-in ceremony of the new Congress. He derided her for using his music without a license.

“While I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs,” Greene told TMZ, claiming one of her accounts was locked.

Notably, her personal account featured a tweet after her congressional account flagged the article that mentioned the apparent suspension. Further details of the purported suspension were not clear.
“I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one,” Young told TMZ. He also sent a scathing cease-and-desist letter to her office threatening legal action against her for using the song “Still D.R.E.” in the video.
The video has since been disabled on her Twitter page for copyright infringement. In the video, she was shown strutting through the halls of Congress in slow-motion overlaid with audio recounting her phone call with former President Donald Trump. The call was to prod Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MO) to back House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who later clinched the gavel.

Greene backed McCarthy in the battle for the gavel. That move put her at odds with fellow members of the conservative Freedom Caucus such as Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) during the bruising GOP civil war over the speakership.

Greene was previously suspended from her Twitter account last year for tweets that violated the company’s COVID-19 disinformation policies, but that changed after billionaire tycoon Elon Musk took over the company.
The Washington Examiner contacted a Greene spokesperson for comment.
