Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin called it “no coincidence” that his team scored two touchdowns off of kickoff returns in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

The Bills returned to play on Sunday for the first time since last week’s medical scare when Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest. The team touted the significance of the kickoff return touchdowns, coming three years and three months since their last time making such a play, and further noting Hamlin’s jersey number of 3.

“God Behind All This No Coincidence,” Hamlin tweeted in response.

Throughout Sunday’s lineup of NFL games, players, coaches, and commentators offered their tributes.

Following a Bills touchdown, tight end Dawson Knox made a heart with his hands to gesture “I love you” toward the camera. Hamlin saw it and tweeted, “I love you, too.” After the game, Knox replied: “Love you boy!!”

NFL analyst Tony Dungy tweeted his gratitude for the progress Hamlin is making in his recovery, noting how it shows “God working through a tragedy to help unify us.”

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, who was involved in the hit to Hamlin just before his cardiac arrest, wore a shirt that read “Love for Damar” during warm-ups on Sunday.

Hamlin has since begun selling T-shirts to raise funds for those who helped save his life.

“We all won,” Hamlin tweeted Sunday afternoon. “I want to give back an ounce of the love y’all showed me. Proceeds of this shirt will go to first-responders and the UC Trauma Center. Go get yours.”
