Former NFL running back Peyton Hillis is in hospital after he saved his drowning children.

Hillis, a former Arkansas Razorback who made a name for himself as a member of the 2010 Cleveland Browns and was featured on the cover of Madden 2012, is reportedly hospitalized and being treated in the intensive care unit after “saving his children from drowning in the ocean” near Pensacola, Florida.

“I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better. He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but the doctors say he is improving,” said Greg Hillis, the running back’s uncle, on social media.

Peyton Hillis’s uncle added appreciation for “the prayers being thrown up on his behalf.”

The children are reportedly safe and well.

The former Browns star remains unconscious, however, according to FOX 24’s Alyssa Orange.
