Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) called out colleague Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) for her “obstruction” of the speaker vote after Boebert told Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) that he did not have the votes to be speaker.
The two women, some of the most vocal far-right representatives in the House who typically find themselves aligned on policy, have been at odds lately. Greene reignited the feud between Boebert sparked by a contentious process to elect the next speaker of the House.
“I’m not sure how Lauren Boebert on one hand can demand so much out of Kevin McCarthy, but then demand nothing out of someone else and be willing to vote for them to be speaker,” Greene said on Thursday.

HOUSE REPUBLICANS FRITTER AWAY NEGOTIATING LEVERAGE VERSUS DEMOCRATS WITH SPEAKER FIGHT
Boebert, along with 19 other Republican allies, has rallied behind Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), causing McCarthy to lose 11 straight votes. By doing so, Congress remains in limbo, with several representative-elects waiting for their chance to be sworn in.
“That’s not serious, I don’t think that’s leadership, and I really see it as more obstruction,” Greene said of Boebert.
Neither Boebert and her allies nor McCarthy appear to be budging from the California Republican’s bid to lead the House. The Colorado representative asked former President Donald Trump on Wednesday to call McCarthy and tell him to drop out of the race after Trump put out a statement on Truth Social to all Republicans the previous night.

While Boebert is a staunch supporter of Trump, she and her 19 allies believe McCarthy has not been an effective party leader and will not concede on proposed House rules.
The House will reconvene on Friday at noon for another round of voting.
