Fans have donated nearly $4 million to a charity toy drive fund that was established by Hamlin, according to Fox News. Fans of both sports teams also gathered outside of the hospital in solidarity after Hamlin collapsed during the Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“We also want to acknowledge the dedicated first responders and healthcare professionals at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center who have provided exceptional care to Damar,” the statement continued. “We feel so blessed to be a part of the Buffalo Bills organization and to have their support. We also want to thank Coach Taylor and the Bengals for everything they’ve done.”
The family promised to keep fans updated on Hamlin’s condition, which is still critical as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the Bills. He remains in intensive care but is sedated.
