First 2023 jackpot: Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $785 million

The Mega Millions jackpot passed the $700 million mark after there were no winners in Friday night’s $685 million drawing.

The winning numbers on Friday were 1, 3, 6, 44, and 51 while the Mega Ball number was 7. There was one winning ticket in Ohio that matched the first five numbers but failed to match the Mega Ball number.

MEGA MILLIONS $1.28 BILLION GOLDEN TICKET SOLD IN ILLINOIS

For Mega Millions and Powerball, 2022 has been a year of large lottery jackpots.

In November, an anonymous Powerball winner bought the winning $2.04 billion-dollar ticket at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California.

An unknown lottery player in Fort Myers, Florida, purchased a winning $494 million Mega Millions ticket in August.

Two anonymous Mega Millions lottery winners in the Chicago area won and split the $1.337 billion jackpot in July.

The next drawing will be on Tuesday, the first jackpot drawing of 2023. It is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
