Kathy Griffin is being mocked after she was suspended from Twitter for impersonating Elon Musk.
Memes inundated the social media platform after the comedian was banned for changing her Twitter page title to “Elon Musk” Sunday, violating the site’s new policy prohibiting users from impersonating others without using a “parody” tag. Griffin also repurposed her dead mother’s account in an attempt to skirt around the suspension.
Actor James Woods posted a meme showing Musk holding Griffin’s head, a reference to the time the comedian infamously posed with a prop resembling former President Donald Trump’s decapitated head for a photo shoot.

“In context maybe the greatest meme ever,” Woods tweeted.
Others posted cartoons slamming the debate over cancel culture and free speech.
Venture capitalist David Sacks tweeted his surprise at both topics being united by Griffin.
“I must admit, I never thought Kathy Griffin would be the cause that finally rallied the Twitter elite back to the cause of free speech,” Sacks wrote.

Musk tweeted that Griffin can have her account back, for the price of $8, in reference to the platform’s new verification program.
