Stimulus update: Direct payment worth $1,312 to be sent to some Alaska residents in 15 days

.

In 15 days, payments from the Permanent Fund Dividend will be issued to another swath of residents who have yet to receive their checks from the Alaska Department of Revenue.

Eligible Alaskans with the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of March 13 who have yet to get their PFD checks for 2023, or earlier, will receive their payments on March 21.

The Permanent Fund Dividend determines payment amounts for each year on the state’s annual mineral revenues for that year, with checks being sent to eligible residents once a year. In 2023, the PFD check was worth $1,312, with distribution for the payment for that year beginning in October.

“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”

“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum added. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
