South Korea’s unannounced rocket launch has people saying they saw UFOs

The South Korean military took responsibility for an unannounced rocket launch that caused speculation among civilians of a UFO sighting.
The Defense Ministry confirmed it had test-fired a solid-fueled rocket on Friday, which it said was a part of an initiative to build up its space-based surveillance capability, according to the Associated Press. The ministry also stated that it hadn’t notified the public of the launch beforehand due to sensitive military security concerns.

The country first successfully launched a solid-fuel rocket back in March, and Friday’s launch was a follow-up.
Emergency offices and police received hundreds of reports of people describing the mysterious overhead object that left a white-to-red vapor in its wake.

Earlier this week, South Korea’s military failed to shoot down a group of North Korean drones that crossed the border for the first time in five years. While they scrambled warplanes and attack helicopters, they were not able to shoot down any of the drones that ultimately flew back home or disappeared.
Over the next 48 hours, there was a report of a possible secondary incursion, though the military rejected those claims, saying the possible drone sighting was actually a flock of birds.
