Billionaire Mark Cuban says he will vote for Biden during White House visit

.

Shark Tank co-host Mark Cuban revealed Monday that he plans to vote for President Joe Biden this November.

The announcement comes after the billionaire visited the White House to speak during a healthcare event related to pharmacy benefit managers. Cuban himself has an online pharmacy company called CostPlus, which has a goal to provide low-cost medications to consumers.

“If they were having his last wake, and it was him versus Trump, and he was being given last rites, I would still vote for Joe Biden,” Cuban said, referencing the Catholic tradition of praying over a person who is almost dead.

Taking his disdain for Trump a step further, Cuban also said he plans to support Nikki Haley in Tuesday’s Texas Republican primary in protest of the former president. The billionaire has not shied away from criticizing Trump, arguing in 2021 that social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, currently known as X, did “the right thing” in suspending Trump’s accounts after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Last year, it was speculated that Cuban would be running for political office in 2024 after he announced he would leave Shark Tank after its 16th season and reports indicated he planned to sell a majority of his stake in the Mavericks basketball team. However, Cuban confirmed to the Washington Examiner that he has no plans to run for office this year and will instead put his focus on CostPlus.

Texas is one of 16 states where the Republican and Democratic parties are hosting primary elections on Tuesday, also known as Super Tuesday. Other states include Virginia, Colorado, Maine, Tennessee, Alabama, and North Carolina.
