Twitter experiences global outage for desktop users

Twitter users around the world reported that the social media platform was not working on most desktops Wednesday evening.

The website that monitors global web outages, Downdetector, noted that the Twitter website for desktops was not working, accounting for 76% of the users who reported problems in Argentina, Canada, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The app was still working on cellular devices, but it was experiencing minor problems, such as with the notification tabs. According to reports, users were not able to see likes or responses from other users through the tab. The cause of the outage was unknown Wednesday.
