Pritzker blasts Abbott for sending illegal immigrants to cold Chicago despite dwindling resources

.

Gov. J. B. Pritzker (D-IL) blasted Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) on Sunday for the latter’s apparent bias in sending buses of illegal immigrants to Democrat-controlled cities such as Chicago.

“Cities out here that are the target of this political game that Gov. Abbott is playing are suffering,” Pritzker said on ABC’s This Week.

It is too cold to keep receiving busloads of immigrants in Illinois’s sanctuary cities, including Chicago, according to Pritzker.

“Here in Illinois, it’s minus 29 degrees outside with the windchill,” he said. “We have migrants that arrive from Texas virtually every day, hundreds, and we don’t have places to put them.”

His state needs more resources and far more help from the federal government and President Joe Biden to deal with this crisis, according to the governor.

“We don’t have enough shelter space here,” Pritzker said. “There are plenty of other cities where, you know, if he’s going to send people, they could be sent. … But, no, he’s choosing only Democratic states, Democratic cities.”
